Bringing eco-friendly and environmentally sensitive products to the world of children, OX kids scours the globe in search of rare fibers to create quality children's clothing with a conscience.
Launched by founder and creative director Caroline Cameron in early 2008, the collection is a children's clothing and accessories line of premium knitwear focusing on witty and charming styles made from the softest and most sumptuous fibers. OX products are known because they are made from the most luxurious natural fibers such as the downy fleece of the arctic musk ox, Patagonian guanacos, Andean suris, and Bolivian llamas bred according to pre-Inca traditions. We don't use harsh chemical dyes on any of these fibers in order to protect our planet and retain the rich all natural colors that we work so hard to find. No animals are harmed at any stage of production, for as we see it, the best yarns come from the happiest creatures.
For the heavier fall/winter pieces, Cameron has created interchangeable styles for baby up to size 4 years, with some inventive practical touches. For example the baby sweaters are named 'smittens', so called because of the attached mittens that button back on the sleeve of the sweaters. The collection includes many similarly clever details that work with the changing needs of the child. Smittens work with the outer jackets to have access to mittens when needed. The pants are adjustable as well, with side buttons to change the length. The hats have ties to keep them on while the blanket is perfect in size for both swaddling and the stroller. For women there is a shawl with the same ruffle detail as baby girl but with a convenient button closure design and hidden pockets.
Spring/summer means eco-friendly organic pima cotton at OX Kids. Equally as luxurious to the touch, yet light weight and breathable for the warmer months. Consistent with the ethos of OX kids, the cotton collection is offered in a palette of soft shades created from low impact dyes that both compliment baby's skin and appeal to the modern parent.
